Multiple weather warnings for the Eastern Cape for Tomorrow

Severe Weather Alerts

A yellow level 2warning for disruptive rain resulting in flooding of settlements, roads, low-lying areas and bridges is expected in places over Dr Beyers Naude (Willowmore area),KouKamma, Sundays River Valley, Makana, Raymond Mhlaba, Amahlathi, Great Kei, Mnquma, Mbashe LM's during the morning.

An Orange level 6warning for disruptive rain resulting in flooding of settlements, roads and bridges, some communities temporarily cut off as well as danger to life is expected in places over Kouga, Ndlambe, Ngqushwa, as well as Nelson Mandela Bay and Buffalo City Metro's.

An orange level 6warning for disruptive snow resulting in danger to life, loss of livestock and crops, communities being inaccessible is expected over Elundini , Senqu, Walter Sisulu (Jamestown), Sakhisizwe, Emalahleni and Enoch Mgijima (Molteno) LMs.

A yellow level 2warning for disruptive snow resulting in icy roads and traffic disruptions is expected over Walter Sisulu LM (Burgersdorp), Matatiele LM, Mzimvubu LM, Mhlontlo LM and Chris Hani DM in the morning.

A level 2 warning for damaging winds resulting in localised damage to formal and informal settlements, disruption to harbours and/or ports and the disruption of transportation and power is expected along the coastal areas of the Koukamma and Kouga LM's as well as over the Joe Gqabi, Chris Hani DMs, and the Amahlathi LM.

A level 4 warning for storm surge is expected in places along the coast between Plettenberg Bay and Buffalo City on Wednesday morning to Thursday morning resulting in coastal flooding due to an increased sea level of 0.2m above the highest astronomical high tide combined with already flooding rivers. Very cold conditions are expected in places over the interior of the Eastern Cape.

Cloudy, windy and cold with scattered morning showers and rain in the south, but isolated in the north, clearing in the afternoon with Coastal Wind: Strong westerly, moderating in the evening.

Fine in the extreme east, otherwise cloudy, windy and cold to very cold with scattered morning showers and rain, but isolated in the north with snowfalls, clearing in the afternoon and a coastal wind strong north-westerly, moderating in the along the Wild Coast in the afternoon.
